On our last night in Pasadena, we got the girls down to bed at around 9:00 after a good-bye party with some friends at Mike and Carol Rewers' house. With the girls in bed I went out to run a few final errands before our flight the next morning.
As I drove on the Pasadena streets, "Under the Bridge" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers came on the radio, and there was no other song I would have rather heard in that moment. I turned up the volume and I rolled down the windows. I felt the cool air of a lonely blue night in Pasadena as I cruised down Colorado Blvd one last time. It was the perfect way to say a sad good-bye to this wonderful place.
